Bristol Social Enterprise Conference 2011: Transition

      On 19th November 2011, 9.30am - 5pm
At Merchant Venturers Building, University of Bristol Woodland Road

*Fairtrade lunch included in the ticket price*

      Lion's Den - 6th December

The Lion's Den is a follow up to the conference in which your ideas for new and innovative projects can be pitched to social entrepreneurs. It's like TV's Dragons Den - but with a twist. The winner will get financial prize towards their idea and support, training and mentorship from the University's Research, Enterprise and Development Unit. All viable projects will also be eligible for support. Find out more information about the event on Bristol Social Enterprise Society's website here.

Ideas will need to be submitted by Tuesday 29th November covering the following points:
      • A summary
      • What caused you to think of the idea
      • Who will benefit from the idea
Anyone is welcome to come along to the event as a viewer; you can participate in the audience vote. See the social enterprise website for more details on the Lions Den.

Thanks for attending! Look out for the conference next year!
The Bristol Social Enterprise Conference is the first of its kind in Bristol. It is a forum designed to engage in dialogue, debate, and expression around social enterprise.  The Conference is an arena to explore revolutionary ideas that challenge the prevailing status quo and inspire a call to action.

The Conference is entirely student-run, hosted by students from the University of Bristol. It is run largely due to support from the Social Enterprise Society and the Bristol Hub.  We are excited to run the conference for the following reasons:
      • To expand participants’ understanding of various disciplines within social enterprise, with an emphasis on how they can get involved
      • To connect participants with others passionate about social enterprise, within and across disciplines and professions
      • To help participants discover how they can make a difference and to inspire them to action
      • To showcase innovative ideas and trends within social enterprise to encourage better solutions to the world’s problems
